Cleopatras ChoiceAn ancient holistic treatment for relief from Psoriasis is gaining new popularity as more people who have Psoriasis and Eczema turn to natural methods of getting relief. The natural treatment recreates the water conditions of the famous Dead Sea in the user’s bath tub. The effects of using mineral-rich Dead Sea salts to get relief from Psoriasis & Eczema have recently been shown & discussed on CNN with several interview subjects swearing by the results.

Skin ailments such as Psoriasis are a very serious issue for many people today; in fact over 3% of the world’s population suffers from some sort of Psoriasis skin condition. The condition can be caused by many factors and the ultimate causes are not fully known. Unfortunately there is currently no known cure for Psoriasis, which means that those suffering from the condition have learned to find ways to live with treating and managing the condition. The condition can be psychologically difficult to live with because it’s prominent, red blotches on the skin are very visible and cause insecurity and discomfort for those who have them. While many forms of Psoriasis treatment pop up now and then, one natural method becoming more known recently actually has a track record thousands of years long.

So what’s the good news for Psoriasis sufferers? Recently CNN ran a special, which can be viewed here, on the healing benefits of bath salt made with salt from the Dead Sea and how many people are finding relief by using these natural salts. In fact, a recent clinical study demonstrates that using Dead Sea salt, in balneotherapy treatment helps ease Psoriasis symptoms. Fifty Psoriasis patients were gathered for a study in 1989 by Israeli dermatologist Dr. Zvi Even Paz. It has been known for centuries that people with skin ailments were able to find relief by bathing and visiting the Dead Sea. However what was not known was if this was due to the high mineral content of the salt or if it was due to other factors such as atmospheric conditions or elevation levels. Dr. Paz decided to study the effects of using Dead Sea bath salts only, on these long time Psoriasis patients.

47 of the 50 Psoriasis patients who participated in the study, showed significant relief and skin improvements by using the Dead Sea bath salts. Maximum improvement was found when patients used two pounds per bath, three times a week over a period of six weeks.

In fact the benefit of Dead Sea salt have been known anecdotally for a long time. More recently it has become a “medical tourism” destination for those with skin conditions. Often these tourists take some packaged bath salts home from Dead Sea products brands such as Seacret, and Adovia with them and continue to purchase them from importers in the United States if they feel the results are continuing. The CNN investigation was based on the therapeutic power of Dead Sea bath salts and medical spas in the U.S. which use the salt for treating their Psoriasis treatment clients. It shows dramatic before and after pictures of patients reducing the amount of Psoriasis on their bodies.

Pure Dead Sea salt is available for purchase for home use, however consumers should be wary of purchasing from non-credible vendors. In order to guarantee that you are getting the genuine thing and not being sold some expensive table salt, make sure the vendor offers a Certificate of Authenticity, has been in business for a long time and is in good standing with the BBB.

The Adovia brand of Dead Sea salts provides a certificate of authenticity with each bag of salt and is imported directly from Israel. The brand is available for sale on CleopatrasChoice.com which offers many different sizes of Dead Sea bath salts with and without essential oils added.
