RoC Skin Care Presents the ‘Gold Standard in Filmmaking’ Award
The RoC Brand, the French skincare expert and pioneer in developing retinol, the gold-standard in anti-aging, is proud to announce their partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival Women in Film Program for the second consecutive year. RoC Skincare continues to support the talent and creativity of women in film through the “Gold Standard Award for Female Feature Director,” by elevating the award to an official category of entry at this year’s 2009 festival. The winner will receive a $5,000 endowment to be used for an upcoming film project so that she can continue to enlighten audiences with her work. The Hamptons International Film Festival received an abundance of entries from many gifted women and RoC Skincare is pleased to announce that this year’s award winner is Emmy Nominated Actress and Director, Cheryl Hines, for upcoming film, “Serious Moonlight.”
Best known for her role as Larry David’s wife on the HBO hit “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Hines makes her directorial debut with “Serious Moonlight.” The film pays tribute to her friend, the late filmmaker and actress, Adrienne Shelly, best known for her work on “Waitress,” who passed away before her screenplay debuted on screen. Through the combination of a highly talented cast, including Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Justin Long and Kristen Bell, and Shelly’s witty script, Hines delivers a humorous story about a woman’s revenge on her unfaithful husband and the unforeseen consequences.
Of the award, Hines says, “I am honored by this recognition from RoC Skincare and Hamptons International Film Festival and hope my success opens a window of opportunity for other women to accomplish their dreams and to continue to express themselves through film.”
