Fraxel Laser System Growth
Reliant Technologies, Inc., the pioneer of fractional resurfacing and market leader of aesthetic laser skin treatments, today announced its distinction as the nation’s 157th fastest growing company by Inc. magazine. Reliant Technologies was recognized as one
of America’s entrepreneurial growth leaders by Inc. magazine, the premier publication for small and medium sized businesses, in its annual ranking of the Inc. 500. Reliant Technologies also ranked 5th in the top 50 businesses in Silicon Valley and 8th among the top health companies in the U.S.
Since 2001, Reliant Technologies has provided innovative technologies to the growing aesthetic market. The company’s products, the Fraxel platform of lasers, are the most advanced skin resurfacing systems available for dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons. Increased sales of the Fraxel laser systems contributed to Reliant Technologies’ 2007 revenue of $70.5 million, a 1450 percent increase since 2004.
“The Fraxel brand has quickly become the gold standard in laser skin resurfacing preferred by physicians and patients alike. We are pleased to be included in such a prestigious group of fast growing, successful companies that have been chosen by Inc. magazine,” said Eric Stang, president and CEO of Reliant Technologies. “We remain committed to leading the global aesthetic marketplace by advancing the science of skin rejuvenation and providing safe, effective and non-invasive treatment solutions to our growing consumer base.”
“If you want to find out which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500,” said Inc. Editor Jane Berentson. “These are the most innovative, dynamic, fast-growing companies in the nation — the ones coming up with solutions to some of our knottiest problems, creating systems that let us conduct business faster and easier, and manufacturing products we soon discover we can’t live without. The Inc. 500 list is Inc. magazine’s tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition.”
The 2008 Inc. 500 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, for profit, independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.
“We’ve seen continuous dramatic growth in the demand for Fraxel treatments as consumers become more aware of the safety and efficacy of our unique suite of skin rejuvenation products,” said Len DeBenedictis, chief technology officer of Reliant Technologies. “Whatever a patient’s skin concern may be, Reliant offers a treatment that fits their lifestyle without the common side effects associated with fully ablative and surgical procedures.”
According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, laser skin resurfacing is one of the fastest growing segments of the beauty industry having increased 230 percent from 1997 to 2007. Fraxel laser systems treat a full range of aesthetic conditions, from those seeking deep skin tightening and resurfacing to those looking for a gentle, topical treatment to help maintain their skin’s healthy tone and texture.
