Anti aging cream targets sunbathers
SolarChem Labs has launched an anti-aging cream formulated to help repair skin damage specifically caused by sunbathing, in a move that aims to bridge the gap between maintaining a tan and preventing the sun damage that can lead to wrinkling.
The new peptide-based formula, which is being launched as the sun tanning season in the Northern hemisphere gets into full swing, claims to be effective in three different ways, being able to repair sun damage, moisturize, whilst also extending the duration of a sun tan.
The company says it has developed the product because so many people are tempted by the ‘Golden Glow’, yet increasing awareness of the damage excessive sun worshipping can do to the skin is prompting more and more individuals to not only protect themselves with sunscreens, but also to pay more attention to skin care following sun exposure.
“Tanoderm 3 was created with Sun Bathers in mind” stated Ashle Higbee, product development team leader.
The developers say that the formulation contains 6 Peptides to ‘help to stimulate the production of natural collagen and elastin’.
Likewise, it also contains Tanositol, a new ingredient, that is said to extend tan life by 62 per cent, as well as� different Shea and Coco Butters to re-hydrate the skin.
“We know lots of people will be out in the sun this summer and we felt there needed to be a skin care product to address sun damaged skin” said Higbee.
The company says that the product targets the fact that many sunbathers may already have a significant amount of skin damage and resulting wrinkling, an issue that the product addresses.
Indeed, the company points out the fact that 80 per cent of sun damage actually occurs before the age of 18, which means that for the majority of people the formulation will be useful to help repair damage.
Tanoderm 3 is being launched throughout the United States, and is available through the company’s website, as well as spas and tainning centers, at a cost of $95 for 6oz.

Pyratine-6 (pyratine-6.com) comes out next month, February 2008. Pyratine-6 is a cytokinin, like kinetin(kinerase), but outperforms kinetin. They are both anti-oxidants.
Pyratine-6 comes out next month, February. It is an antioxidant. It repairs sun damage and also can treat rosacea.
This may be an interesting cream but I would be curious as to what peptides they are using. Actually the best things to repair photodamage are anti oxidants such as vitamin C. LUC skin care contains peptides as well as anti-oxidants which work to reverse sundamaged skin.
